Under the initiative, a diverse lineup of musicians, from local artists to internationally renowned performers, will grace stages at various locations around the Inner Harbor. The music will encompass a wide range of genres, including jazz, blues, rock, and classical. “Music has always played a vital role in Baltimore’s cultural fabric, and we are thrilled to bring it to the Inner Harbor in a new and exciting way,” said Mayor Brandon Scott. “This musical makeover will not only enhance the experience of visitors but also create opportunities for our talented artists.” The music performances will be incorporated into existing events at the Inner Harbor, such as waterfront festivals, farmers’ markets, and holiday celebrations. Additionally, dedicated music stages will be set up in key areas, including Pier 6 and the Harborplace Amphitheater. “We believe that music has the power to unite people and create a sense of community,” said Susannah Rogers, Vice President of the Inner Harbor Management Group. “By introducing live music to the Inner Harbor, we hope to foster a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere for all who visit.” The musical makeover initiative is supported by a consortium of partners, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Maryland State Arts Council, and local businesses.
