Albuquerque Extends Pet License Deadline Amid Technical GlitchAlbuquerque Extends Pet License Deadline Amid Technical Glitch Albuquerque, New Mexico – The City of Albuquerque has extended its pet license deadline to June 30, 2023, citing technical glitches that prevented residents from renewing their licenses online. The original deadline for pet licenses was February 15, 2023. However, several residents reported difficulties accessing the city’s online licensing system, leading to delays in renewal. The technical issues have since been resolved, but the city extended the deadline to ensure that all pet owners have an opportunity to comply. “We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our residents,” said Animal福利 Director Carolyn Ortega. “We understand the importance of keeping pets licensed and up-to-date on vaccinations, and we are committed to making the process as easy as possible.” The online licensing system is now fully operational, and residents can renew their pet licenses at https://www.cabq.gov/pets. Those who prefer to renew in person can visit the Animal Welfare Department at 5801 Wyoming Boulevard NE. Pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats over the age of four months in Albuquerque. Unlicensed pets may incur fines or other penalties. The license fee varies depending on whether the pet is spayed or neutered. “Licensing your pet is an important part of responsible pet ownership,” said Ortega. “It helps us keep track of pets in the community and provides a way to identify lost or stolen animals.” Residents with questions or concerns can contact the Animal Welfare Department at 311 or (505) 768-2221. The department is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
