In addition to Level 2 chargers, the city is also exploring the installation of fast-charging stations, which can charge an EV to 80% capacity in as little as 30 minutes. The city has secured funding for these charging stations from various sources, including the California Air Resources Board and the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District. The city is also offering incentives to businesses and property owners who install charging stations on their premises. “The availability of charging infrastructure is crucial for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles,” said Sally Johnson, director of the San Diego Air Pollution Control District. “These new charging stations will provide peace of mind for EV owners, knowing that they can easily recharge their vehicles throughout the city.” The expansion of charging infrastructure in San Diego is expected to have numerous benefits.
