Headlining the festival on Thursday, April 27, is the legendary composer, trumpeter, and vocalist Wynton Marsalis. Other notable Thursday performers include the soulful H.E.R., the bluesy Keb’ Mo’, and the electrifying Trombone Shorty. Friday, April 28, brings the Grammy-winning Beck to the stage, along with the charismatic Jon Batiste, the R&B icon Patti LaBelle, and the enigmatic St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Saturday, April 29, marks the return of one of Jazz Fest’s most beloved acts, the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir and Friends. They will be joined by the legendary gospel singer Mavis Staples, the funk maestro Trombone Shorty, and the swampy rockabilly band Reverend Horton Heat. On Sunday, April 30, the festival closes with a performance by the genre-bending Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Other Sunday highlights include the Grammy-nominated Tank and the Bangas, the folk-infused My Morning Jacket, and the New Orleans-based Dumpstaphunk. In addition to the headline acts, Jazz Fest offers a vast array of local and international artists representing a wide range of musical styles, including blues, gospel, funk, soul, and Zydeco.
